Welcome to the exciting new Hatbox website! Over the last several months we have worked hard to rebuild our site from the ground up. At Hatbox we feel our shop is more than just a store, it is a carefully crafted hat experience where you can trust our Haberdashers to help find the perfect hat for your needs. We strive to be your authority on all things hat related whether it’s questions of style, fit, quality or product knowledge.
We want our website to offer the same exceptional customer service that our physical location is known for. We look forward to bringing you the very best the hat world has to offer! Please feel free to contact us and let us know what you think of the new design, or if you find yourself downtown Austin please stop in and say hello!
I went into Hatbox when I was in Austin for SXSW 2010. It’s a beautiful shop. Bought a great hat for $15 which rarely leaves my head in the Summer months. Looking for a Winter model now. Will you be selling hats through the (v attractive) new website?
Hi Nick,
Thank you for the kind words and yes, we will launch our ecommerce early Feb 2012.

I was in ATX for the weekend and I was trying to find a hat shop, strolled in to Hatbox and instantly fell in love with the place, the store was beautifully set up. I didn’t purchase anything but tried on a few fedoras and went past the velvet rope, which was wonderful. I was happy to see that Hatbox carried Goorin Bros. and thanks to (I don’t know her name) she was very knowledgeable about the styles and I will be returning to purchase one of those and others.
What can I say about this wonderful place?! It is just too perfect for words! Helpful, energetic, knowledgeable staff and they made every costumer feel like they mattered. We stayed in there for more than 2 hours and past closing time talking about of course hats, but even life, love and adventures we have all experienced. Lauri was more than perfect and I will never forget her store or her amazing spirit. She even lead us into a special room with expensive, gorgeous hats!! Here are the amazing pictures!
I’ ve been looking every where for a wedding hat; please help. Megan

Looking for a solid-colored, winter-appropriate newsboy for my teenaged daughter. Anything?
Hello Shirley,
Yes we have several options ranging in price from $38 to $58. Kangol has an organic Canvas 8 panel in a variety of colors, Broner has a wool outseamed cabby in an assortment of colors as well. We have a nice range of sizes and a 50% off sale on selected winter caps, thought these two are not on sale. We look froward to seeing you and have a wonderful well hatted holiday!
I love, love, love this store. I have bought two Fedoras from your store and i am definitely not done. I have told friends about it and i have friends that are coming to visit and want to go there. I remember dancing and you laughed and loved that i was doing it. Your hats are amazing and I am sure i will buy more. THe help was so polite and….. well, helpful. Keep up the good work and i will see you again soon.
Visited your store during SXSW 2012. Great selection and an impressively knowledgeable staff. I look forward to visiting again next year!
I have a 4 yr old grandson that loves hats! I have tried to find a shop here in San Antonio to shop for him, other than children’s stores we can not find a good variety, I’ve looked online, but hesitate to buy because I would not be sure if the hats would fit. Gramma and mommy love to see him in different types of head gear, and he loves wearing them! Do you have a good selection for us to take him, to try different ones on him? We are taking him to a photographer, and would love to take pics of him wearing a hat we bought from you!

First I’ll say I have boutht several hats from The Hatbox and I’m very happy with them. I’ve been to both stores. When I’m downtown I do my best to drop in just for the great feel of the place and the people who work there are wonderful.
Now I am in search of a new Fedora and read an article in the Statesman about Jimmy Pierce and wanted to know when he will be in one of the stores again.
Hello Sonny,
Thanks for the compliments I guess it shows we love what we do! Jimmy is available by appointment only at either location at your convenience. Just call downtown at 512.476.1203 and we will be happy to set one up for you.
